Lovin' Gocek

The Port Gocek Marina is just great, everything is new and there are plenty of cafes, a laundry, restaurants and markets in close proximity.  The amenities block is just beautiful with the bougainvillea.
Plus they are really into the evil eye, or third eye, it's everywhere.
It also has a hotel and private beach which we can use so we spend Monday afternoon there.  But not before a visit to the beautician, finally I can have my nails done and feel girlie again.  They do a great job and are very cheap for pedi and manicure.

We find a great place for dinner in town called The Kebab Hospital, great food and fun staff, we eat there both nights.

We depart the marina on Tuesday morning heading for Fethiye as we have to exit from here not Gocek.  It's about a two hour motor across the the Gulf of Fethiye.  We are able to tie up at the Ece Marina for no charge and it only takes us 90 mins to get all the paperwork done, passports stamped and eat lunch and buy the last provisions for a few days.  We are not really leaving Turkey just yet but getting ready.

The city of Fethiye reminds me of Portafino in Italy, it's lovely to look at.

Heading back to Gocek is an awful trip as we are beating into Beaufort 4s and 5s thank god it's only a few hours.  Our plan is to spend the night under the cliff tombs in Tomb Bay then Wednesday head back to Kapi Creek before lunchtime so we can get ready to live stream the State Of Origin game via their Wi- Fi.  Fingers crossed it actually works as Greg will be really disappointed if it doesn't.  From Kapi Creek we depart Turkey for Greece on Thursday heading for Rhodos about an eight hour trip so hopefully the weather forecast doesn't change.

Tomb Bay is just beautiful and we bump into our French neighbours from Ali Babas.  The gentleman helps us get out our stern lines tied off securely.  We also have a visit from one of the local turtles.

The Gocek area is very beautiful and reminds Greg of the Hawkesberry but on a larger scale.  It's very appealing  for to the sailing community as you have the large Gulfs for sailing and beautiful anchorages and restaurant for night time.
