Solta to Otok Hvar

I must be affected by delayed jetlag as its 2.30am and I’m working off line on the blog.  I really need to get this published so I can stop thinking about it.  I think we are heading for a town on the island of Hvar today and they will have Wi-Fi I’m hoping.
Its 4am, do you think I can go to sleep now?
After a few hours of sleep we wake up to a beautiful morning to find everything still as we left it last night.  Greg releases the stern line so we drift back into the bay for privacy and he later rows ashore to pick up the rope that secured us to a tree.
After our morning  coffee  we head for the Island of Hvar.  First stop is Vrboska.  A small town located on the N E side of the island.
It’s my lucky day.  As we head off we pass our first yacht full of naked men, yeh!!!!!  Actually there are squirrels everywhere and Greg is enjoying the view every day.  The good thing about Europe is that no one gives a rats as everyone is doing their own thing, and mostly 99% a la natural.
We arrive at Vrboska and decide to stay at the ACI Marina.  It costs 76 Euros for the night.  Greg achieves his next big first. Reversing in stern to shore between two yachts.  It’s a tight fit.  There is very little room to move as there are yachts opposite us a well.  He does a great job for his first time.

Miss happy pants at reception gives us a cold welcome the first of the trip; the Marina keeps our cruising permit as insurance for the night.  It’s about midday so we head ashore to find some lunch and WI-FI.  We are in luck.
God have I mentioned it’s freggin’ HOT, after Sydney’s winter it’s taking longer than I expected to get used to it.  It reminds me of the dry hot summers of the 80’s, with cicadas singing all day long.  We meet Patricia and David our neighbours for the night.  They have been sailing the Med for many years  and are based at Vrboska.
Anyway we find a great pizza place for lunch which has WI-FI that actually works.  So while Greg orders and cools off with a local beer I get to load some content.  Photos are still proving a problem as one photo of 56KB takes 15 mins to load, it’s like waiting for paint to dry.
We spend a few hours here; eating, drinking and people watching and waiting for the heat of the day to pass.
Back at the yacht Greg installs the new radio so now we are wired for sound.  He also puts to use the breeze busters that were left on the boat.  Neither of us have seen these before but they actually sit over your hatch and catch the breeze and push it below, what a great invention!
I stroll into town to check out the shops and sights.  Later that evening we head back to town for dinner and settle for a table at Konoba Lem, a large restaurant on the other side of the town.  We order another seafood platter which has the best grilled fish of the trip so far.
Guess where we're going tomorrow?
