Today’s the Day – Kremik to Solta

Domesticated
It’s August 8th and we wake up around 5am.  I make a coffee and then head for the Kremik Restaurant to use their Wi-Fi.  I sit there trying to access it but no luck.  I find out later it is only switched on at 8am so go back again to hear it is still not working.  Meanwhile Greg has topped up the water tanks and scrubbed the decks.  Yes ladies the good news about owning a boat is that the guys actually do some domestics.
At 9am we are finally heading off on our maiden voyage as Moet22.  The weather is perfect, the forecast is for winds of 5-10 knots N NE and we are heading to Solta.  It’s about 22 Nm away and we estimate a four hour trip.  We are heading South of Croatia, so set a course for 168 degrees SE and motor along for about 14 Km, we then cut inland at the Island of Orud our course is now 90 degrees E for the rest of our journey before heading in at Uvala Necujam.  Almost directly Sth of Split.  It’s a popular destination in the summer months but we are able to find a spot in the bay.
And then the fun begins; dropping the anchor for the first time, always tricky business and the wind has now picked up.  After lots of yelling and screaming we finally get comfy.

Mayday!
Actually we are fine.
Can’t wait for a swim; the water looks so inviting.  So after cooling off we crack open our very first Moet on the boat.  Strawberries are from the little markets at Kremik, they are so delicious!

The first of many!
For lunch we are having bruschetta with avocados and tomatoes plus some cold cuts.  Yes very healthy.

Enjoy
