By 11am we decide to check in with the marina office and get an update on our Customs visit. Just so happens the guy is there now and has all our documents stamped and signed. No visit is required by Customs now. That's great so we dump the paperwork back on the yacht and head into town. It's only about five minutes away and in walking distance if it wasn't pouring with rain. We find a restaurant and enjoy some Turkish cuisine cheap and cheerful.
We walk around the Bazaar and Bar St with all the shops open and wanting to sell us something; even genuine fake watches. As we are wet and cold we head back to the yacht for a while.
By 2pm there's a break in the weather and we decide to take our trip out to Ephesus. Our taxi driver is available so we meet him at 3pm.
It's a pretty amazing place a city built during the 6th century B.C on the water and now due to silt and environmental factors is 6 kilometres inland. It's takes about an hour to walk through and I hope you like some of the photos.
Hello G&G, we are happy to know you have arrived on Turkish soil, but oh dear, the paperwork you have to do! The photos of such amazing ancient stuff are incredible, must be awesome to actually see it. Hoping the weather improves. Tons of love. A&M xx
